"Born of lengthy mixing sessions using a collection of diverse hardware, including classic analogue synths, drum machines and samplers, Arfan Munir-Rai (aka Kashgar) creates a beguiling and quirky 18 track début album that is warm, rich and - while experimental - deeply listenable.

Citing varied influences - from Gescom, Bigg Juss, and Charles Dodge to central Asian ballads - Kashgar’s sound is nevertheless all of his own and moves seamlessly from near-skits to rhythmic experiments and evocative ambiences.

We are proud to welcome him to Acre. While this is Munir-Rai’s first release as Kashgar he has several others under his Vizier of Damascus moniker on Icasea, Tree Symmetry and Rednetic Recordings."
